Cristine Dhimos
Regional Director
Cristine Dhimos began her professional dance career with what was then called the Alvin Ailey Third Company and toured the West Indies performing in such ballets as Revelations and Blues Suite. She has also danced with the Metropolitan Opera Ballet, the Pearl Primus Dance Company, the Pearl Lang Dance Company, and the Afro-Brazilian Dance Company, Sambrazil.
With The Ailey School’s CAS/AileyCamp, she was an instructor for seven years, followed by fulfilling the position of Director of CAS/AileyCamp for a total of ten years. During this time, she also developed the entire program for AileyCamp Too!

Cristine has taught dance at CAP21, The Ailey School, The Lee Strasberg Theater Institute, Lehman College, and the Westchester Dance Center. Dance techniques included Ballet, Jazz, Ethnic fundamentals, special exercise, and Modern. She has also served as a consultant for PASE (Partnership for AfterSchool Education).
In addition, she held the position of Dance Department Chair at CAP21, a musical theater conservatory which trained students from NYU Tisch School Undergraduate Program where she oversaw the dance curriculum, faculty, students, and taught ballet for over 20 years.
In the fall of 2000, New York City held its pilot program for D.A.R.E. America’s, D.A.R.E. Dance Program, the predecessor of the DEA Educational Foundation Youth Dance Program. For twelve years she served as Regional Manager in New York, New Jersey, and Massachusetts helping to develop the dance programs in the respective cities and develop new teaching artists. Cristine continues to have the privilege of serving as Regional Director with the DEAEF Youth Dance Program in New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, Knoxville, Tennessee, Virginia, Charleston, WV, and Florida.
